Today feels unreal. For the first time in my life, I feel like we are free. Sheikh Hasina, who ruled over this country for so many years, has left. She’s gone. And with her departure, it feels like the weight we’ve been carrying for so long has been lifted.
When I heard the news, I didn’t know how to react at first. It felt like a dream. But then, I started to see the celebrations everywhere—people in the streets, cheering, crying, hugging each other. It’s not just about her leaving; it’s about what this moment represents. This is the victory we’ve been waiting for.
For years, I’ve seen how the country suffered. So many voices were silenced, and so many dreams were crushed. There was a sense of fear in everything. People couldn’t speak freely, and the youth—people like me—felt like our future was being taken away from us. But today, that’s over.
This victory didn’t come easy. So many people fought for this moment, some in ways we’ll never fully understand. Some gave their lives, and others endured years of hardship. It makes me emotional to think about it. We owe them so much.

As I write this, I think about how this victory affects me personally. I’ve always dreamed of a better Bangladesh, a country where we can speak freely, live without fear, and build our futures without barriers. Today, that dream feels closer.
But I know this is just the beginning. We’ve won this battle, but now we need to rebuild. There’s so much to fix—our systems, our opportunities, our unity as a people. We can’t let this chance slip away.
For now, though, I want to celebrate. I want to feel this moment with all its joy and hope. This is a day we’ll remember forever—a day when we took back our freedom.
To everyone who made this possible, thank you. To everyone who believes in a brighter future, let’s work together to make it real.
We’re free. And that’s the most incredible feeling in the world.
